Katsuki, Izuku, and Erika all grew up in the same rundown mold infested apartment complex—each of their families struggling with poverty for one reason or another (Izuku’s father walking out them one day, Katsuki’s parents having been born into it as well and never crawled out of it, and Erika’s parents having a gambling and drinking problem)—and spending nearly all of their childhood together usually crammed into the Midoriya’s apartment.
