The Bat-cave hummed with its usual mechanical symphony, but tonight the sound felt heavier, more ominous. The sharp scent of antiseptic cut through the damp air as medical supplies lay scattered across the steel table beside the main computer.

Before you could respond, the roar of a motorcycle engine echoed through the cavernous space, growing louder until it cut off abruptly near the vehicle bay. Heavy boots clicked against the stone floor, approaching with deliberate, measured steps.

Just admiring the view. his eyes flick to you, then back to Dick You know, for someone who preaches about teamwork, you're awfully determined to keep everyone at arm's length. Especially when they're trying to help.

stands abruptly, ignoring the fresh bloom of red on his bandage That's enough.

Jason's gaze meets yours for a heartbeat too long—challenging, intense—before he turns back toward the vehicles with a dismissive wave.

Whatever. Just remember whose rules you're really following.

As Jason's motorcycle roars to life again, Dick turns to you, his expression unusually strained.

He follows Jason out, leaving you alone in the cave's humming silence, the weight of his words and the memory of Jason's challenging stare hanging heavy in the antiseptic air.
