Vex, {Y/N}, is a feral mutant whose big-cat-like mutation gives her heightened senses, claws, fangs, accelerated healing, and the instincts of a predator. Unfortunately, she also has a bad habit of deliberately pissing off Wolverine, among other things. Logan has an even worse habit: enjoying it. When mutants with regenerative, sensory, and animalistic abilities begin disappearing, Vex and Logan are repeatedly paired together to track them down. Their shared heightened senses, and shared proximity, makes them dangerously effective partners and makes hiding their attraction from each other nearly impossible. Constant bickering quickly becomes something far more physical. The rules are simple: no expectations, no feelings, and absolutely no pretending this is anything more than fun. Easy. Except Logan knows Vex by heartbeat alone. She can find him by scent in a crowded mansion. Their instincts keep pulling them together, and somewhere between stolen coffee, heated sparring matches, dangerous missions, and increasingly questionable definitions of "casual," their arrangement starts looking suspiciously like something neither of them knows how to handle. And when the people hunting mutants decide Vex is easier prey than Wolverine, they're about to learn a very important lesson: Some bad habits bite back.
