Everyone at Briar thinks Y/N and John Logan are together. They certainly act like it. She sleeps in his bed, wears his sweatshirts, attends his games, and lets him hear songs nobody else gets to hear. He memorizes her coffee order, keeps a toothbrush for her, searches for her in the stands, listens while she writes, and calls her babydoll. But Logan refuses to call Y/N his girlfriend. She keeps telling herself casual is enough until she realizes she’s writing love songs about someone who refuses to choose her. So Y/N finally chooses herself. She walks away. Suddenly the Hawk House is quieter. Her spot on the couch stays empty. Logan’s bed feels too big. His games pass without her in the stands. And the music that once filled the quiet spaces between them disappears. Meanwhile, Y/N finally finishes the song she could never write while she was still waiting for him. When Logan eventually hears it, he realizes she had been telling him exactly how she felt all along. He simply wasn’t listening. Now loving Y/N isn’t enough. If Logan wants his babydoll back, he has to prove he’s finally ready to choose her when morning comes.
