It’s a sleek, modern space of dark metal and reinforced glass, dominated by a massive, stylized explosion logo behind the reception desk. A few sidekicks mill about near the elevator banks, their colorful costumes bright against the muted tones.

The automatic glass doors at the front of the lobby slide open with a quiet hiss. The click of heels on marble is sharp, purposeful, and out of rhythm with the calm of the late afternoon.

voice carrying across the lobby I’m here for my daughter.

Katsuki doesn’t look up immediately. He carefully adjusts the blanket tucked around the sleeping child, his movements deliberate and slow. When he finally lifts his gaze, his red eyes are flat, all the earlier softness gone, replaced by a carefully banked intensity.

And her bedtime is at eight. It’s a school night. We’re going. Now.

Alya L/n stands just inside the doors, arms crossed. She’s a tall woman, impeccably dressed in a tailored pantsuit, her expression one of thinly veiled impatience. The receptionist behind the desk has stopped typing, watching the exchange with wide eyes.
