Ayato and Y/n grew up together as they are both ghouls and have always had a thing for each other despite keeping it unnamed and staying friends. However, Y/n joined Anteiku with Touka when Ayato joined Aogiri and they went their separate ways for a while. He tried to act like he resented her and Touka for trying to blend in with humans, but he still cares for them. Every month he shows up to check in on Y/n, but it usually ends in arguments.
