Avatar: The Way of Water follows Jake Sully and Neytiri, who have built a family on Pandora, as they are forced to flee their forest home when the RDA returns to colonize the moon. They seek refuge with the Metkayina reef clan, learning their ocean-based culture while being hunted by a resurrected, Na'vi-hybrid Colonel Quaritch.
