For centuries, the world lived in balance between four great nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Each nation was connected to one of the four elements—water, earth, fire, and air. Among them lived the Avatar, the one person capable of mastering all four elements and maintaining peace between the nations.
