Attack On Titan · Y/n story by @gojosmissingtop

The barracks hum with a kind of warmth that feels almost foreign. Wooden floorboards creak under restless feet. A few cadets have already claimed the best spots near the stove, stretching out like they own the place.

Jean Kirstein

arms crossed, jaw tight Oi, don’t eat that yet.

Too late. Sasha’s already got a mouthful of bread, cheeks puffed out like a squirrel hoarding for winter.

Sasha Braus

mumbling through food Wha?

Connie Springer

snickering You hesitated. That’s on you.

Across the room, Eren’s voice cuts through the noise—sharp, insistent, mid-argument about something that probably doesn’t matter but somehow already does.

Eren Yeager

I’m just saying, if we’re training to fight Titans, we should be training like it. Not running laps around a field like we’re chasing chickens.

Armin Arlert

calm, measured The basics matter too, Eren. You can’t master ODM gear if you don’t have the stamina to use it properly.

Mikasa Ackerman

quietly, from beside him He knows that.

The words are simple, but the weight behind them isn't. Mikasa stands close enough to Eren that it's almost unconscious, her presence steady.

Jean Kirstein

muttering under his breath Here we go again.

Connie Springer

Don’t tell me you’re starting another fight.

Jean Kirstein

I’m not. pauses, smirking Unless someone says something stupid.

Sasha Braus

raising a hand, mouth still half-full I have something to say—

Jean Kirstein

No.

A beat. Then laughter erupts again, loose and easy, filling the gaps between bodies. Near the window, a few cadets lean against the frame, voices low, trading stories. Someone mentions Titans—the word lands softly, but it lands.
