Malachi and Y/N met at the start of the clone wars, they became best friends, fighting side by side since both of them were Jedi, you were trained by Yoda and he was trained by Obi-Wan Kenobi. The friendship was more complex than anyone knew though, they fell in love with each other, but none of them made the first step because of the Jedi rules about attachment.
