During the war, she had ended up on the drawing room floor and tortured for information she never gave up. Even when her mind fractured. Now, she was different. Floating in a world of her own. Hearing things no one else did. Getting distracted by things no one could see. Pleasantly, serenely drifting with a tide that seemed to pull only her. It started as a morbid curiosity. The Slytherin boys were drawn to her because they hadn’t known what had happened to her after her torture. Then it was guilt. Seeing what she had become as a result of them- even indirectly. Then it became something else entirely. The more they looked, the less they found they could be apart from her. She may be their opportunity for salvation
