You’ve known Mattheo Riddle long enough to know three things: he always wants the last word, annoying you is apparently his favorite hobby, and he’s been calling you his “future girlfriend/boyfriend” since you both were fifteen. He says it because it annoys you. It’s just an old joke between childhood rivals. At least, that’s what you both think. You see, the problem with old jokes is that sometimes they stop being funny and start opening the door to things that were easier when they were only a joke.
