Set in 1960s San Francisco, the story follows 21-year-old Alice and her best friend Fanny, two young women who have left their parents’ homes to live freely during the hippie era. Together with their close friends Alexander, Simon, and John, they travel around in a minibus, attending concerts and festivals, meeting other hippie groups, and chasing the dream of freedom and music — especially John Lennon. Fanny and Alexander share a growing flirtation, while Alice remains independent and uninterested in romance. Their lives are shaped by friendship, adventure, drugs, alcohol, and a search for meaning beyond society’s rules.
