( BTS AU) After her parents' divorce turns her entire life upside down, Mika leaves behind everything she knows and moves with her mother back to her mother's hometown. Mika isn't thrilled about starting over. She's leaving behind her friends, her old school, and the life she thought she'd have. Her mother promises that Bridgeport will be a fresh start—a place where Mika can finally settle down and figure out who she wants to be. For the first few weeks, it actually works. Mika enrolls at Bridgeport Prep, a prestigious private school surrounded by mountains. She makes a few friends, settles into her classes, and begins feeling like maybe starting over won't be as horrible as she imagined. Then winter arrives. And Mika discovers something that completely changes everything. Bridgeport Prep has a snowboarding team. But there isn't a girls' team. Mika has been snowboarding since she was little. The mountain has always been the one place where she doesn't have to think about her parents, divorce, school, or everything else going wrong in her life. So she asks to join. She's immediately told no. The school only has a boys' competitive team, and Coach doesn't believe there's enough interest—or funding—to create a girls' division. Mika refuses to accept that.
