Everyone knows Klaus Mikaelson. The ruthless Original Hybrid. The monster who has terrorized the supernatural world for a thousand years. The man nobody dares to challenge unless they have a death wish. But what if the most dangerous man alive had a best friend? Not a lover. Not an enemy. Not another person foolish enough to believe they could change him. A friend who knew him before the fangs, before the bloodshed, before the world learned to fear his name. YN grew up alongside Niklaus Mikaelson, back when their families traveled from kingdom to kingdom, when their biggest troubles were childhood mischief and Mikael's temper. She was there before the curse, before immortality, before Klaus became the monster everyone whispers about. She was the girl who hid him from his father, the one who found him broken in the woods after his first full moon, and the person he once mistook for an angel. Centuries later, she's still here. Klaus turned her into a vampire so they could face eternity together, but their friendship was never about keeping each other on a leash. They disappear from each other's lives for decades, live their own adventures, and reunite like no time has passed. Unfortunately for everyone else, YN remembers exactly how insufferable Nik was as a child. The supernatural world knows her as a legend. Some don't even believe she exists. After all, who could possibly be close enough to Klaus Mikaelson to tell him he's being an arrogant bastard and live to tell the tale? His siblings know the answer. Elijah trusts her. Rebekah welcomes her. Kol finds the entire dynamic hilarious. And Klaus? Klaus Mikaelson has conquered kingdoms, slaughtered enemies, and spent a thousand years making the world kneel. Yet somewhere out there is a woman who remembers him as the boy who begged his brother not to leave him alone in the woods. And she's just come back. God help Mystic Falls.
