The first thing Y/n noticed about the Gryffindor-Slytherin joint dormitory experiment was the smell. It was a bizarre, clashing mix of polish and damp stone, of cinnamon from the Gryffindor side and something faintly metallic and green from the Slytherin quarters.

The tension in the room tightened another notch. A silver-blond eyebrow arched.

Harry finally turned his head, his green eyes sharp behind his glasses. The firelight caught the lightning bolt scar on his forehead.
