At nineteen, Y/N is supposed to be starting the best chapter of her life. Instead, university is the only place where she can escape the house she calls home. She still lives with her mother and stepfather, trapped in a household where her mother’s alcoholism has made her distant and unreliable, while her stepfather constantly crosses boundaries and sexually harasses and abuses Y/N. She has learned to stay quiet, keep to herself, and disappear whenever she can. University becomes her safe place—the one thing she believes might eventually give her a way out. But Y/N is exhausted. She feels completely alone, convinced that nobody would understand what happens behind closed doors. Then she meets Rafe Cameron.
