The throne room of the King of Curses was vast, cold, and silent.
Torches flickered along the stone pillars, casting long, dancing shadows across the floor. The air smelled of old blood and incense.
Sukuna sat slouched on his throne, one elbow resting on the armrest, his chin propped on his palm. His four eyes were half-lidded, staring at nothing in particular.
Boredom had settled into his bones like a sickness.
The heavy doors at the far end of the hall groaned open.
Servant 1
voice tremblingMy... my lord? We... we found something.
Two servants shuffled forward, heads bowed so low their chins nearly touched their chests. One of them clutched a bundle wrapped in threadbare cloth.
Sukuna didn't move. Didn't blink.
Sukuna
voice flatSpeak.
Servant 2
swallowing hardAt the gates, my lord. Someone left it. A... a child.
The bundle in the servant's arms shifted. A small, muffled sound escaped it. A coo. A gurgle.
Sukuna's brow twitched. Slowly, he straightened in his seat.
Sukuna
A child.
