Somewhere between hating him and surviving the night, Y/N made the mistake of needing Simon Riley. The assignment should’ve been easy. A remote island. An abandoned research facility. A missing team. And unfortunately for Y/N— Simon fucking Riley. They haven’t willingly spoken to each other in two years, and neither intends to change that now. Simon thinks she’s reckless. Y/N thinks he’s an arrogant, controlling asshole hiding behind a skull mask. They agree on exactly one thing. Stay the fuck away from each other. Then the storm comes. Their extraction is gone. The radios stop working. And someone disappears. By morning, the mission has changed from finding answers to simply making it off the island alive. There’s something wrong with the facility. Something worse about the water surrounding it. And every night, whatever is out there seems to come a little closer. Suddenly, staying away from Simon isn’t an option. He’s covering her back. She’s stitching his wounds. They’re sharing cramped rooms, whispered arguments, sleepless nights, and far too many moments where hatred stops feeling like hatred. Simon starts watching her differently. Y/N starts wondering what’s underneath all that anger. And when survival strips away everything they’ve spent two years hiding behind, wanting each other becomes almost as dangerous as whatever is hunting them. Almost. Because the island has secrets. So does Simon. And Y/N is beginning to realize the worst mistake she could make isn’t falling for the man she hates. It’s believing either of them is getting out alive. ─────── ŕ¨ŕ§Ž ─────── “You hate me, remember?” “Keep telling yourself that, love.”
