The day they brought Ella Mae home didn’t feel real. Rafe Cameron had never pictured himself carrying a diaper bag in one hand and a six–month–old in the other, but there he was, with Sofia at his side, unlocking the door to the house that suddenly felt warmer than it ever had before. Ella’s big blue eyes blinked curiously at the world around her, her tiny fingers curling tightly around Rafe’s thumb as if she already knew she belonged with them. For the first time in a long time, Rafe didn’t feel like the kid who ruined everything—he felt like somebody’s dad. (obviously now 10 months later ella may is one)
