y/n Stark has exactly one person she cannot stand, and naturally, it has to be her father’s favorite mentee. Peter Parker. It started at Midtown, where they competed for everything: grades, rankings, academic positions, recognition. Every year, they fought for first place. And every year, somehow, Peter won. What began as academic rivalry quickly became personal. Now Y/N and Peter are constantly competing, not just for the top spot in class, but for Tony Stark’s attention. Unfortunately for Y/N, Peter is the obvious winner at both. Even at the compound, she can’t escape him. She’ll walk downstairs to deliver a message from one of her super-uncles, only to find Peter in the lab. Talking to her father becomes a personal challenge of “try not to mention Peter for one fucking minute,” and Tony fails before she can even finish her sentence. After a brutal study session, Y/N heads downstairs to find the common room packed with Avengers. And Peter. Fucking Peter. She keeps her expression neutral as she walks past everyone, though Peter’s gaze follows her for a second too long. Tony notices immediately. “Y/N, your classmate is here,” he announces, far too proudly. Y/N silently exhales, pours herself a glass of water, and stares into it like it might save her from this conversation. “Oh, God.” She sets the glass down, her usual mask sliding effortlessly back into place. “Make yourself at home, Peter.” Her voice is perfectly impassive. Her expression, however, is dripping with sarcasm. She turns toward the elevator, fully intending to disappear before Tony can say anything else. Then Peter speaks. And somehow, the one person she was trying to avoid is now the only person in the room who seems determined to get under her skin.
