Two days after Camp Rock begins, a police car pulls through the gates, immediately turning every head. Y/N steps out with nothing but a duffel bag and a reputation that has followed her for years. To everyone at Camp Rock, she’s the “troubled kid,” the girl who doesn’t follow rules, doesn’t trust anyone, and supposedly always finds a way to cause problems. But nobody knows why she became that way. Abandoned when she was only nine, Y/N was forced to grow up without the people who were supposed to protect her. She learned to survive on her own, building walls around herself and refusing to let anyone get close enough to hurt her again. Then there’s Fletch. He’s already known as Camp Rock’s rebellious guitarist, so he isn’t exactly the kind of person anyone expects to understand her. But instead of believing the rumors, Fletch sees through them. What starts as sarcastic arguments and constant tension slowly becomes an unexpected friendship, with Fletch becoming the first person Y/N actually trusts. As the campers compete for the chance to perform with Connect 3, Y/N has to decide whether she’s going to keep letting everyone define her by her past or finally show them who she really is. And somewhere between the music, arguments, late-night conversations, and everything Camp Rock throws at them, Y/N and Fletch begin realizing that what they have might be more than either of them expected.
