The afternoon sun had been cooking the beach for hours by the time Tsuyu's siblings decided that apparently drowning each other counted as entertainment. She had only looked away long enough to dig through their bag for sunscreen when a sharp whistle cut across the water.

Samidare Asui

I wasn't trying to drown her, I was just showing her how to hold her breath underwater.

Satsuki Asui

coughing and splashing That's not how you do it!

High above them, the lifeguard responsible for the warning lowered their whistle and settled back into their chair. Great. They had been in America for three days, and her siblings were already getting yelled at by the lifeguard.

Tsuyu Asui

You're going to get us banned from the beach before the end of the week, ribbit.

Samidare and Satsuki grumbled but stayed put, splashing each other half-heartedly in the shallows. Tsuyu watched them for a moment, making sure they weren't about to resume their antics, before turning and walking across the hot sand toward the lifeguard tower.
